Easy Cancellation Policy:

For a full refund simply cancel at least 24 hours before the tour start time. You can simply cancel online or contact us anytime and we will be happy to assist you.

Rescheduling:

You can reschedule the date or time of your tour up to two hours before the tour is scheduled to start.
Simply contact us and we will transfer your tickets to another tour that fits our availability and your schedule.
If you reschedule a tour, the cancellation policy is based on the original purchase time and original start date of the tour.

Do tours in Savannah continue in rain and extreme weather?

Yes, the show must go on! We have the Best History and Ghost Tours in Savannah and our guests count on us to be there no matter what.

Our hardy guides will host you in nearly any conditions. We live here and we are used to tropical weather – lightning is just atmosphere to us!
Keep an eye on the weather as tour time approaches. Be ready to bring a jacket, umbrella or plastic poncho, sold at many downtown Savannah shops.
Tour cancellations for weather related reasons are very rare but it is important that we have a valid email and contact number that you will have access to while traveling in Savannah in case we need to make you aware of any changes. If we cancel a tour for safety reasons full refunds will be given.

What is the Mad Cat Tours ‘no-show’ policy?

All tickets and reservations must be paid or reserved with a valid credit card or through PayPal. Guests who reserve and/or pay with a credit card or PayPal and then do not show for their selected tour will be charged the full amount of their party’s tour price. We are only allotted a certain number of spaces and must pay our awesome guides, so please keep in mind if you are a ‘no-show’ for your tour, your credit card will be charged the full ticket price for each guest. If you contact us at least 24 hours in advance you may reschedule at no extra charge (subject to availability, other tours may be booked full). All tickets are non-refundable within 24 hours of tour start time. No refunds will be issued for tickets within 24 hours of tour start time.

Departure times:

Please try to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your tour time to find parking and check in with your guide. We must take all of our guests into consideration, so each tour departs on time. Please make sure you are on time too, there will be no refunds for ‘no-shows.’ If you absolutely cannot make your tour, contact us a minimum of 24 hours in advance of tour time and we will be happy to reschedule at no cost.

Conduct:

By local municipal regulation, anyone behaving in a disruptive or otherwise disorderly fashion, including but not limited to public drunkenness / public intoxication, will be asked to leave the tour, those asked to leave will not be eligible for a refund.

Please be respectful of your guide, other individuals and private property while on tour. 

Tours requiring identification:

Pub crawls are for guests age 21 and over. Bars and pubs will require all guests provide ID before entering. The purchaser of tickets is responsible for ensuring everyone in the party is of legal age and hes valid ID. Guests unable to enter bars without ID at tour time will not be refunded. 

Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?

Tours often sell out so we suggest purchasing your tickets early to guarantee your desired tour day. We can accept cash paying customers at tour time, but only if there is room on the tour. Our tours are limited to a maximum of 20 guests per guide to ensure a fun experience for everyone. Just one more reason we confidently say we have the Best History and Ghost Tours in Savannah.

How long are the tours?

90 minutes to 2 hours. See the descriptions for the expected duration of an individual tour.

How much walking is involved and what is the pace?

Tours usually cover about one mile to a mile-and-a-half over a 90 minute to 2 hour period. We walk at a leisurely pace and stop to enjoy interesting and sometimes spooky points along the way. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. There are sometimes places to sit and rest sporadically throughout the tour.

Where do the tours go?

The tours take place in beautiful Savannah, Georgia’s Historic District. Each tour has a unique route, crafted by our local historian and folklorist guides to uncover Savannah’s fun, quirky, fascinating and creepy secrets. Is transportation provided for the tour?

Guests are responsible for transportation to and from the starting point of the tours. Mad Cat Tours are walking tours only.

Are there bathrooms along the way?
Restrooms may not be available along the tour route, though in case of emergency our guides will attempt to accommodate. Be prepared. We advise refreshing before your tour. 

Are tours conducted in English only?
Yes, at the moment we can only offer tours in English, but you are welcome to arrange for an interpreter. Please note that if you are accompanied by an interpreter, they will also need a ticket. They won’t be disappointed! Mad Cat Tours has the Best History and Ghost Tours in Savannah!

Are dogs/pets allowed on the tour?

Yes! We love our pets too! We have had puppies to parrots, all are welcome! All pets must be on leashes, please.

Is smoking allowed on the tour?
If you must smoke, please do so away from the other tour guests and guide. Smoking is not allowed inside the bars and pubs we visit. Thank you.

Do you offer private tours?

Do I need to print a ticket?

No printed ticket is required, your guide will be ready to welcome you. When you arrive for the tour, simply tell your guide the name on your reservation and enjoy the tour!

Will we go into haunted homes and buildings?

Except when specifically stated, none of our tours enter any physical locations or private premises.

Can I change my reservation to a different time or tour?

Yes! Simply contact us with at least 24 hours notice. We will gladly accommodate your needs by rescheduling.

Can I bring alcohol on the tour?
Yes! Alcoholic drinks in non-branded ‘to-go’ cups are allowed. There is an open container ordinance allowing alcoholic beverages in certain areas of Savannah’s Historic District.

Does the tour guide accept gratuities?
While not required, tips are accepted and always appreciated for a job well done.

Is the tour wheelchair and stroller accessible?
Our tours are available for those with wheelchairs or strollers – all sidewalks and parks have handicap access. Certain sidewalks and roads in the historic district are extremely bumpy and uneven, they can present a challenge to anyone! If you have any questions or concerns please contact us.

Can I request my favorite guide?

You are welcome to request a specific guide and we will do our best to accommodate, but we can make no guarantees. We reserve the right to have any guide work any tour. We assure you that no matter what guide you have you will have fun! Our guides are local experts and we proudly offer the Best History and Ghost Tours in Savannah.

Will I see a ghost?

Many of our guests experience paranormal phenomena and we encourage bringing your camera, EMF readers, EVP devices, etc. Our tours tell the haunted tales of Savannah, yet we cannot guarantee you will see a ghost. 

A few extra suggestions:

Our tours are walking tours, please dress sensibly and wear comfortable shoes.

In the summer months the hot evenings can stay in the 70s and 80s. Staying hydrated helps keep your experience fun!

This is the South, we do have some bugs! You may want to apply some insect repellent prior to the tour.

Please carefully check the starting point for your tour.

Allow a little extra time for parking, sometimes it is a challenge in our busy historic district.
