What makes this tour different
This is not a sanitized overview. We dig deeper into the city’s past to uncover the people and episodes that are often flattened, misunderstood, or skipped entirely.
We discuss Savannah from its earliest colonial days through the Civil War and into the rowdy years of prohibition, always aiming for a balance of fun, accuracy, and real scholarship.
Figures like James Edward Oglethorpe are given a closer look, but we also highlight the people too often pushed to the margins of standard history — including Tomochichi, chief of the Yamacraw, and women whose voices survive in letters, diaries, and public records.
When you look closely at the past, you find that it is full of strange turns, unforgettable characters, and stories that rival fiction. That is the spirit of this tour.
Locals and visitors alike love this walk because it combines humor, depth, and a genuine sense of discovery in one of America’s most beautiful cities.
