Quick Answers
Booking, Cancellation, and Rescheduling
What is your cancellation policy?
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled tour start time. You can cancel online or contact us directly and we will be happy to help.
Can I reschedule my tour?
Yes. You can reschedule the date or time of your tour up to two hours before it begins, subject to availability. Contact us and we will transfer your tickets to another available tour.
If you reschedule, the cancellation policy still applies based on the original purchase time and original tour date.
What is your no-show policy?
All reservations must be paid in advance or secured with a valid credit card or PayPal. Guests who do not show up for their selected tour will be charged the full amount for their party.
We reserve a limited number of spots and must pay our guides, so no-shows are charged in full. If you contact us at least 24 hours in advance, we are happy to reschedule at no extra cost, subject to availability.
Can I change my reservation to a different tour or time?
Yes. Contact us with at least 24 hours notice and we will gladly help reschedule your booking.
Tour Logistics and What to Expect
How early should I arrive?
Please arrive about 15 minutes before your scheduled start time so you have time to park and check in with your guide. Tours depart on time out of respect for all guests.
How long are the tours?
Most tours run between 90 minutes and 2 hours. Check the individual tour page for the expected duration of that specific experience.
How much walking is involved?
Most tours cover about one to one-and-a-half miles over 90 minutes to 2 hours. We move at a leisurely pace and stop regularly at interesting and sometimes spooky points along the way.
Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.
Where do the tours take place?
Our Savannah tours take place in the Historic District. Each route is unique and designed by local guides to uncover the city’s fun, fascinating, quirky, and creepy secrets.
Is transportation provided?
No. Guests are responsible for getting to and from the starting location. Mad Cat Tours are walking tours.
Are bathrooms available during the tour?
Restrooms may not be available along the route, though guides will try to help in emergencies. It is best to use the restroom before the tour begins.
Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?
Tours often sell out, so we strongly recommend booking ahead to guarantee your preferred date and time. We may be able to accept walk-up cash guests at tour time, but only if space is still available.
Do I need to print a ticket?
No printed ticket is required. Just arrive at the starting point and tell your guide the name on the reservation.
Pub Crawl Rules, Conduct, and Weather
Do tours run in rain or bad weather?
Usually, yes. Our tours run in most weather conditions, and rain checks are available when needed. Bring a jacket, umbrella, or poncho if the forecast looks wet.
Weather-related cancellations are rare, but if we cancel for safety reasons, full refunds will be given. Please make sure we have a valid phone number and email you can access while traveling.
What conduct is expected on tour?
Please be respectful of your guide, fellow guests, and private property. By local regulation, anyone acting in a disruptive or disorderly manner, including public intoxication, may be asked to leave the tour without a refund.
Do pub crawls require ID?
Yes. Pub crawls are for guests 21 and older, and bars will require valid identification. The ticket purchaser is responsible for making sure everyone in the group is of legal age and has valid ID.
Guests who cannot enter bars because they do not have ID will not be refunded.
Can I bring alcohol on the tour?
Yes. Alcoholic drinks in non-branded to-go cups are allowed in permitted parts of Savannah’s Historic District under local open container rules.
Is smoking allowed on the tour?
If you need to smoke, please do so away from other guests and your guide. Smoking is not allowed inside the bars and pubs we visit.
Will we go inside haunted homes or buildings?
Unless a tour specifically says otherwise, no. Most tours do not enter private homes, buildings, or other interior locations.
Will I see a ghost?
Many guests report paranormal experiences, and you are welcome to bring a camera, EMF reader, EVP device, or other ghost-hunting gear. We tell Savannah’s haunted stories with enthusiasm, but we cannot guarantee a supernatural encounter.
Accessibility, Pets, and Comfort
Are tours offered in English only?
At this time, yes. If you would like to bring an interpreter, they are welcome, but they will also need a ticket.
Are dogs or pets allowed?
Yes. We love our pets too. We have welcomed everything from puppies to parrots. Please keep all animals leashed.
Are tours wheelchair and stroller accessible?
Yes. Savannah’s sidewalks and parks generally include handicap access, and our tours can accommodate wheelchairs and strollers. Please note that some historic sidewalks and streets can be very uneven.
If you have specific concerns, contact us ahead of time and we will be happy to help.
Private Tours and Special Requests
Do you offer private tours?
Yes. Private tours are available. Please contact us to ask about availability and options.
Can I request a specific guide?
You are welcome to request your favorite guide and we will do our best to accommodate, but we cannot guarantee a specific guide for a specific tour.
That said, you are in good hands. Our guides are local experts and excellent storytellers.
Do tour guides accept gratuities?
Tipping is never required, but it is always appreciated for a job well done.
